Bailey is a lifelong learner with a passion for
content design, community outreach,
and learning through play.
For as long as I can remember, I’ve been immersed in books, fueled by an insatiable curiosity and a love for learning. Encouraged to be creative and resourceful, I grew up believing that knowledge is a powerful tool—and that belief has shaped my career.
After earning a BS in Business Management from Western Governors University in 2016, I set my sights on becoming a children’s librarian. But life had other plans. A series of unexpected opportunities led me to health science librarianship. In Spring 2021, I earned my Master of Science in Information Science with a specialization in Health Informatics from the University of North Texas.
While at UNT, I served as a Graduate Student Council Senator, advocating for student-centered initiatives and writing legislation to support my peers. That passion for student engagement continues to drive my work today. As a medical librarian and outreach professional serving as Student Engagement & Marketing Strategist for NNLM Region 3, I develop and support student programming while managing digital communications across a seven-state region (Arkansas, Kansas, Louisiana, Missouri, Nebraska, Oklahoma, and Texas). My work focuses on expanding NNLM’s reach, especially to historically excluded communities, through strategic marketing, visual design, and innovative outreach initiatives.
Innovation has been a constant theme in my career. In Fall 2020, I introduced video production capabilities to Region 3, adding a dynamic new tool to our engagement efforts. In Spring 2020, I spearheaded the launch of our regional newsletter, for which I've served as principal designer and editor. These initiatives have helped elevate our office’s reputation as one of the nation’s leading Regional Medical Libraries.
My first academic publication—a co-authored manuscript—explores how health sciences libraries leveraged research guides to disseminate critical COVID-19 information during the pandemic. This project exemplifies my commitment to bridging information gaps and ensuring communities have access to reliable, up-to-date health resources.
At the heart of my work is a deep commitment to building relationships and fostering meaningful connections. Let’s collaborate to advance health literacy and make a lasting impact in our communities!
Equitable information access is a right.
As a matter of principle and conviction, I am dedicated to removing barriers to information access, preventing new ones, and advocating for intersectionally accessible resources. I oppose censorship and work to develop tools that promote health literacy, empowering individuals to find, evaluate, and share reliable health information.
I support research and publication, particularly among librarians and students. In collaboration with clinicians and health professionals, I create accessible, plain-language digital materials to improve health outcomes—especially in historically excluded communities.
Growth requires reflection. I believe in continuously reassessing objectives to ensure meaningful, relevant progress. My commitment to lifelong learning drives everything I do—and I will never stop.
